Our Purpose

Notable audio electronics designer, Roger Modjeski of Music Reference and RAM Tube Works, founded the Berkeley Hi Fi School to educate students on understanding and designing audio circuits based on practical application and experience. Roger desires to share his vast knowledge and experience in audio electronics theory, design and sound practices.

Roger and the RAM Tube Works team decided to move operations up to the San Francisco Bay Area to improve access to the large population of audiophiles and engineers, and the technical resources prevalent throughout the region.

Like the University of California in Berkeley, California, the school’s name denotes the quality of education that our school provides along with fresh, alternative approaches toward learning audio electronics engineering and construction.
